Open Gym at Game Time Strength
A Private, Strength-Focused Place to Train…
Without the Chaos
Open Gym at Game Time Strength is designed for people who want to train independently but are tired of crowded commercial gyms, inconsistent access to equipment, and environments that make consistency harder instead of easier.
This is not a traditional gym and not a group class model.
It’s a private, strength-focused training space built around access, focus, and long-term progress.
Below are the most common questions people ask before choosing Open Gym.
“Is this just like a regular gym, but smaller?”
No.
Unlike commercial gyms, Open Gym memberships at Game Time Strength are intentionally limited. This allows members to reliably access racks, platforms, and equipment without waiting, rushing, or changing workouts due to crowding.
The environment is calm, focused, and designed for people who want to train efficiently and consistently.
“Do I need to be an advanced lifter to use Open Gym?”
Not necessarily, but Open Gym works best for people who are comfortable training independently.
Many Open Gym members already follow a structured program and simply want a better place to train.
Others start with coaching or a Barbell MasterClass and transition into Open Gym once they feel confident.
If you’re unsure which option makes sense, we help guide that decision.
“Can I follow my own program?”
Yes.
Open Gym members are free to follow their own training programs, including structured barbell programs or online programming they already trust.
Coaching is available if you want feedback or guidance, but Open Gym does not require ongoing coaching.
“What if I want coaching sometimes, but not all the time?”
That’s very common.
Many members use a hybrid approach… training independently most days while scheduling occasional coaching sessions for form checks, accountability, or adjustments.
Open Gym is flexible by design.
“How is this different from a 24-hour key-access gym?”
Access alone isn’t the difference… environment is.
Game Time Strength is purpose-built for strength training, with:
• Multiple racks and platforms
• Professional-grade barbells and plates
• Space to lift safely
• Membership limits that protect access
Most 24-hour gyms offer access without structure. We offer access with intention.
“Why does Open Gym cost more than a commercial gym?”
Because Open Gym isn’t selling access… it’s selling reliability.
Commercial gyms keep prices low by overselling memberships and accepting peak-hour crowding. That often leads to missed sessions, rushed workouts, and inconsistent training.
We limit membership so people can actually follow their program, train without friction, and show up consistently. For most members, that consistency and time savings is worth far more than a lower monthly price.
“What amenities do you offer?”
We focus on training essentials, not spa-style amenities.
Our spaces prioritize:
• Strength equipment
• Clean, calm training areas
• Tools that support barbell training and conditioning
We do not offer saunas, cold plunges, steam rooms, or locker-room style amenities.
“Why don’t you have saunas, cold plunges, or showers?”
This is intentional.
Recovery tools can be useful, but they are difficult to maintain properly in a 24/7 environment without full-time staff. Rather than spreading resources thin, we invest in what consistently produces results: good equipment, good programming, and an environment that supports regular training.
Many members handle recovery outside the gym and use their training time for what actually moves the needle.
“Do you have treadmills or cardio machines?”
Game Time Strength is a strength-focused gym, not a cardio facility.
We do not offer rows of treadmills or ellipticals. Most locations include simple, effective conditioning tools like an Assault Bike and a Concept2 rower to support conditioning that complements strength training.
“Why don’t you offer more cardio equipment?”
Because we prioritize strength training and efficient use of space.
In Southern California, many members choose to do low-intensity cardio outdoors or maintain a low-cost gym membership specifically for cardio machines. Rather than duplicating that, we focus on providing a better environment for strength training.
“Is this a good fit if cardio is my main goal?”
Probably not… and that’s okay.
If your primary goal is long-duration cardio on treadmills or ellipticals, a traditional gym will likely be a better fit. If your goal is strength, movement quality, and consistent training, Open Gym is designed for that.
